See which words dominate your text

Paste any article, blog post, or product page and instantly get a sorted table of its most frequent words, each with a raw count and a density percentage of the total word count. Keyword density is the classic SEO metric — how often a term appears relative to every word on the page — and this tool measures it against the full text so your percentages match what search engines and content graders see. The table updates live as you type, shows the top 100 keywords, and copies as clean word: count (density%) lines. Turn on Ignore common words to hide filler like the, and, and is, or raise the minimum word length to focus on meaningful terms. Switch Phrase length to 2 or 3 words to rank multi-word key phrases like credit card or state of the art, not just single words.

How density is calculated

A word is any run of Unicode letters, numbers, or apostrophes, so contractions like don't stay whole and accented words like café are counted correctly. Every word is lowercased so Cat and cat merge into one entry. Density is count ÷ total words × 100, where total words means every word in the text — filtered-out stop words and short words still count toward the denominator, exactly as SEO tools define it. Words with the same count are ordered alphabetically for a stable, predictable result.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good keyword density for SEO?

There is no magic number, but most guidance suggests keeping a target keyword around 1–2% of total words. Much higher can read as keyword stuffing. Use this tool to spot terms that are over- or under-represented rather than chasing an exact figure.

Does the density percentage include common words I filtered out?

Yes. The density is always measured against every word in your text, so hiding stop words or short words only removes them from the table — it never changes the total that percentages are calculated from. This matches the standard SEO definition of keyword density.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. All analysis happens locally in your browser using JavaScript — your text never leaves your device and nothing is sent to a server.
